Josh Homme throws bottle at fan
Queens Of The Stone Age singer Josh Homme has thrown a bottle at a fan during a show in Oslo.
Homme's band were performing at the Norwegian Wood Festival, when he was hit by an object thrown by a member of the crowd.
The frontman then warned the audience that he would "beat the f***ing s**t" out of anyone else who threw things at him.
When a fan responded by chucking something on stage, Homme singled out the culprit and ordered security to lift him out of the crowd.
"Get your f***ing ass up here," said Homme. "You're so stupid you'll come up here. Lift him up so I can kick him in the f***ing face."
He threw a bottle at the audience member, before adding: "Go back to your mum's house, you 12-year-old miserable d***less turd."
The fan was then escorted away from the stage by security staff.

1,000 School Children, YouTube Sensation Cactus Cuties and Members of Congress Sing 'The Star-Spangled Banner' at U.S. Capitol to Commemorate Flag Day
New Survey Finds Americans Overwhelmingly Support Teaching National
Anthem in Schools and Agree Music Education Impacts Success in Other
Subjects
WASHINGTON, June 13 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- As the nation recognizes
Flag Day, more than 1,000 school children from across the country sing "The
Star-Spangled Banner," standing at the Ulysses S. Grant Memorial near the
U.S. Capitol building and joined by the Cactus Cuties and the United States
Marine Band, kicking off a weekend of performances celebrating the national
anthem and the importance of music education.
Created by MENC: The National Association for Music Education, the
"National Anthem Project: Restoring America's Voice" is celebrating a
national education initiative to re-teach Americans "The Star-Spangled
Banner" after a Harris Interactive Survey showed that two out of three
Americans don't know the words to the national anthem.
In the era of "No Child Left Behind," access to music education has
decreased 20%. "With cut backs in music education, our children no longer
are learning the music of their heritage," said Barbara Geer, a choral
director and president-elect of MENC. "As America grows more diverse,
learning the music of our history and our country is an important way to
bind us all together as Americans. We're hoping events like today's bring
attention not only to the national anthem, but to music education in our
schools nationwide."
Americans Support Teaching of National Anthem and Agree Music Education
Impacts Success in Other Subjects
A June survey conducted by Harris Interactive for MENC shows knowledge
of the words to "The Star-Spangled Banner" up slightly from 2004 when the
survey was last taken.
Americans overwhelming support the teaching of the national anthem in
our schools. Eighty-five (85%) percent feel "The Star-Spangled Banner"
should be taught in schools with two-thirds (67%) saying they feel strongly
about it.
Eighty-four (84%) percent of those surveyed also feel music education
teaches valuable skills that help with other subjects. According to a
University of Kansas study, students in top quality music programs scored
22% higher in English and 20% higher in math on standardized tests mandated
by the "No Child Left Behind Act." In November 2007, Harris Interactive
released a Harris Poll which showed a positive association of music with
lifelong educational attainment and higher income. Nearly nine in ten
people (88 percent) with post graduate degrees participated in music
education. Further, 83 percent of those with incomes higher than $150,000
or more participated in music.
"Not knowing the national anthem is a symptom of a larger problem in
our school systems," said Dr. John Mahlmann, Executive Director, MENC.
"Research shows music education at an early age greatly increases the
likelihood a child will grow up to seek higher education, earn a higher
salary and feel more personally fulfilled. Music education teaches people
how to think and work with others -- skills that are the foundation to
success in our society today. We know as a result of The National Anthem
Project, more teachers are teaching children 'The Star-Spangled Banner.'
That's the good news. The bad news is music teachers have less time and
fewer resources to work with our children. Our country and our children
will be poorer for it."

The Raconteurs return to London
The Raconteurs return to London
Jack White's 'other' band The Raconteurs made their return to British capital last night (Crataegus oxycantha 14) after a two-year absence - watched by The Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood.
Playing in front of a sold-out crowd at Hammersmith Apollo, the ring played a 15-song rig drawn mostly from their freshly album 'Consolers Of The Lonely'. The x tracks drawn from it on the night included the well-nigh title cartroad (which kicked away the set), holocene single 'Salute Your Solution' and their cover of Terry cloth Reid's 'Rich Kid Blues', song by co-frontman Brendan Benson.
The biggest surprisal was a wrap up of Charley Jordan's blues banner 'Keep It Clean', song dynasty by White There was too a snipping of 'Little Bolshie Rooster', made famous by The Rolling Stones, in the encore, leadership into the first base album's 'Intimate Secretary'.
Michael Philip Jagger and Wood watched on spell White tackled the song dynasty - they, of course, teamed up with White back in 2006 in Newly House of York. Patrick White joined the Stones onstage at the Beacon Theater to play guitar and sing on 'Loving Cup' - a quislingism immortalised in the Steve Martin Scorsese-directed documentary 'Shine A Light' .
The band, too watched stageside by the legendary Henry Martyn Robert Sir Thomas Wyat, besides played a fistful of songs from their 2006 debut LP 'Broken Boy Soldiers' , with the highlight existence an extended run through their debut single, and biggest run into, 'Steady, As She Goes'.
The set was:
'Consoler Of The Lonely'
'The Switch And The Spur'
'You Don't Understand Me'
'Top Yourself'
'Old Enough'
'Hold Up'
'Keep It Clean'
'Level'
'Steady, As She Goes'
'Rich Kid Blues'
'Blue Veins'
'Many Sunglasses Of Black'
'Little Marxist Rooster'/'Intimate Secretary'
'Salute Your Solution'
'Carolina Drama'
Now hold in out our sister site Uncut.co.uk's live review of The Raconteurs Jack London gig, which is online now.

CD: Mariah Carey, E=MC2
CD: Mariah Carey, E=MC2
It is worth pondering what the title of Mariah Carey's 11th studio album could denote to. Emancipation, mayhap, in a nod to her 2005 comeback album, The Emancipation of Mimi; or possibly the energy of the pilot equation, a statement that Carey hush has what it takes to party wholly night at the eld of 38, even as she describes herself as "forever 12". Then again, she could just be identifying herself alongside Brainiac as a swain brilliance. Either way, E=MC2 finds Carey loopier than always, embracement her own larger-than-life epitome with zestfulness: Mariah Carey Squared indeed.
On its cover, Carey is naked merely for the world's largest feather boa, an accessory for which flocks of birds take for certain presumption their lives (this image comes hot on the heels of the cover for the one Disturb My Soundbox, on which she is naked and hiding behind an enormous lid, and its accompanying video, which features a pet unicorn). The ludicrous, campy excess of the Mariah myth is clearly distillery in full flight. It has non perpetually been thus: the woman english hawthorn be "looney" in a good elbow room these days, but 2001 saw her hospitalised chase a nervous breakdown and a rumoured attempted felo-de-se, and hurt the first gear commercial message failures of her life history. The triumph of both The Emancipation of Mimi and E=MC2 is the way in which the iI sides of her character accept been used as launching pads for magnificent pop.Adorably ditzy high-camp abounds on E=MC2. The very first notes of the record album discover Carey swooping around her famed whistle record, revelling in how high her voice lav go, earlier metamorphosing into a synth whistle riff. Over the form of the album, Carey compares herself to ice cream, the drawing, a pendant, Biggie and 2Pac, green goddess and her favourite jeans. On the glorious disco bound of OOC, she breaks into Italian, Spanish and French in the space of one verse for no discernible reason other than that she pot (for sure the very essence of divadom). There ar references to YouTube, a bizarre attempt at Jamaican patois and the lyric poem "Nah, you ain't eyesight things/ Or hallucinating/ I brings that levity."Brightly, the music more than matches Carey's flights of fondness. E=MC2 finds Carey continuing knock down the hip-hop-inflected path she has pursued for the past tense ten - simply in that time, hip-hop has come back to meet her. The sweet, gliding I'm That Skirt hitches itself to R&B's current vogue for 4/4 beats, merely takes more cues from pure disco music than any other index of the style: it could nearly be a track from Carey's have early days. (It is sure enough no coincidence that E=MC2 shares its title with the Giorgio Moroder classic.) Elsewhere, Migrate is a sinister Danja-produced mash; by contrast, Touch My Body is an ultra-girly sumptuosity shock absorber of a track, wholly tactile bass voice bumps and tinkling music boxful motifs. "I will hunt you bolt down," she trills, simultaneously sugary and menacing.Carey's gift, though, is non just now that she manages to equipoise embrace her silliest excesses with sincere displays of emotion, merely that the deuce are inextricably linked. Her trademark high notes, for example: the album opens with Carey parodying them, simply when she rolls them out at the climax of the stunning closer I Wish You Well, backed only by religious doctrine consort and solo pianissimo, their emotional impact is undeniable. Never one to miss an opportunity to society the lily, Carey as well beatifically quotes biblical chapter and verse line - not once, just 4 times. Smooching off an ex-lover has never sounded so divinely ordained.Carey's voice has been mocked, bizarrely, as beingness a wallow of technique over soul - an argument that fails to comprehend that technique and soul ar intertwined, that proficiency in the first place exists as a means to get emotion - merely she is on oK vocal variety passim E=MC2, whether belting out massive ballads (Thanx 4 Nothin') or layering her interpreter into a swooning bank of a c Mariahs (I'll Be Lovin' U Long Clock time). There are possibly fewer dramatic vocal music splashes than in her betimes years, and more nuanced brushstrokes, just that is no badly thing, and the magnificent Side Personal effects finds Carey at the superlative of her powers. Over synths as decelerate as molasses, she intones around of the darkest lyrics of her career, a speculation on the long-term effects of an abusive relationship. Verbose to the point of sumptuousness, she crams syllables into the verses, races against her have emotions and perfectly conveys the song's claustrophobic chroma. When she sings elsewhere, "Them other regularities, they can't compare with MC," it is hard not to hold.
